Child Foundation was established in 1994 and is an international non-profit organization with the objective of helping children stay in school.
As of 2005, Child Foundation has special consultative status with ECOSOC, with offices in four countries (USA, Canada, Switzerland and Iran)

The children sponsored through Child Foundation programs are high achievers, and many of the children they assist are orphans or children living in emergency situations.Over 3,000 families and children are currently receiving assistance through sponsorship programs. Approximately 25% of these children are enrolled in college or have graduated from college programs. Child Foundation currently assists children living in Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia and the United States.
Child Foundation supports three of the United Nations 2015 Millennium Development Goals: to eradicate poverty, to achieve universal primary education and to promote gender equality in the classroom.
Child Foundation is currently focusing on 7 sponsorship programs (Individual sponsorship, college sponsorship, corporate sponsorship, emergency fund, blind children, cancer children, hunger relief) with different aims that help children in need improve their quality of life.
Currently, there are over 3,000 families, under coverage benefiting over 5,000 children talented needy children are identified through schools and local charity organizations.
The Blind Children Division of Child Foundation (BCD of CF) is a fund created to help blind children living in various educational institutes. Their mission is to eliminate severe visual impairment as a barrier to the fulfillment of lives of individuals with sight loss. Through proper education, training and equal opportunities as those of their able-bodied equals, the Child Foundation aims to create an opportunity where blind children can grow up and live, work and function as responsible independent citizens when they are adults; having their visual impairments being seen as just a minor physical disability.
Child Foundation has a long history in supporting children needing major surgeries and fighting cancer. Children with medical needs receive help towards the required treatments. The Children with medical needs program also provides relief for families who are burdened by having to care for the special needs of their child fighting cancer. In most cases, families are not able to provide for the needs of their other children.
